The Bangalore Airport Metro, officially known as the Blue Line or the ORR-Airport Metro Line, is a major project under the Namma Metro network. It aims to improve connectivity between Bengaluru and the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). Spans a total length of 58.19 kilometers and contains 32 stations. This line is designed to reduce traffic congestion and provide a great transit option for both residents and visitors.


Project Phases

The Blue Line is being developed in two primary phases.

The line is predominantly elevated, with a brief underground segment near the Yelahanka Airforce base and an at-grade section closer to the airport. Major interchanges in the line include KR Puram (with the Purple Line), Central Silk Board (with the Yellow Line), and Nagawara (with the Pink Line). It makes the travelling easier to any part of the city.


Construction Milestones and Timeline

The project is expected for completion by June 2026.

Upon completion, the Blue Line is expected to revolutionize transit to and from KIA.


The Airport Metro Line will cover stations at key locations, such as Hebbal, Yelahanka, and Bagalur Cross.
